Reception Guidelines

  • The cost of a regular reception is $7.00 per person, with a minimum cost of $300.00.
  • The menu for regular receptions and receptions that families choose to have partially catered by an outside vendor includes:
    • Cold cuts ( turkey, ham, Genoa or hard salami, mortadella) Note: slight changes in cold cut selection may be made from time to time.
    • Cheese (Provolone, Swiss, American)
    • Rolls and Italian bread
    • Roasted peppers
    • Pickles
    • Tossed salad
    • Fruit salad
    • Green olive salad
    • Potato chips
    • Desserts (variety baked by volunteers)
    • Coffee, tea, soda
  • If an outside vendor will be used to fully cater the reception, the reception fee is $300.00.
  • For those receptions that are fully catered by an outside vendor, coffee, tea, soda, and desserts will be provided by the Funeral Reception Ministry (included in the $300.00 cost)
  •  ALL receptions include hall set-up and clean-up.
  • Funeral Reception Ministry volunteers will serve at ALL receptions
  • Checks should be made payable to “Saint Sebastian Funeral Reception” and presented at the conclusion of the reception.

Social Outreach Ministry

The Mission of the Social Outreach Committee of St. Sebastian Church is  promote the spirit of Christian unity within the parish by providing services and sharing goods with our parishioners and others in the community.

Rev. James Thaikoottathil, J.C.D.had a strong desire for our parish to provide community services. In October 2008  he asked  for volunteers from each of the parish societies, creating the Social Outreach Committee to help implement  our new mission. Since then, Outreach Committee provides food for the Amazing Grace Food Pantry, as as well as preparing and serving hot Sunday dinners at St.Vincent de Paul Place. If you would like to join our efforts, please contact us or the church office.

Current Activities
  • Collect and deliver food to Amazing Grace Food Pantry.
  • Prepare and serve hot meals at St. Vincent De Pauls for 125-150 people.
  • Hold parish dinners and  bottle drives to raise funds for the dinners at Vincent De Paul.
  • Volunteer with the "Grinders for Grace" to raise money for Amazing Grace Food Pantry.
  • Arrange Confirmation students to serve as "Greeters" at Mass.
  • Provide food baskets or funds for needy parishioners.
  • Collect school supplies and backpacks for the AME Zion Church "Back To School " project.

Nurse Ministry

The parish Nurse Ministry holds blood drives for the American Red Cross.
